The changes in spending leisure products in the UK

     

The two pie-charts show changes in spending on leisure products in the UK by age group between the 20-30 years and 50-60 years groups. Overall, sales of sporting equipment show a decrease with age, whereas, spending on gardening and reading materials increase.
The biggest proportion of the spending on leisure products in the UK by age group 20-30 years was on electronic equipment, with 41%. This dropped to 38% in the 50-60 age group, and the books and magazines percentage drops from 16% in the 20-30 age groups to 28% books and magazines in the 50-60 age group. However, the share for all other regions changed dramatically. The big change in the group is on sports because the 20-30 ages are 20% and the 50-60 ages is 5%. Only the photography percentage remained constant. Also there are small changes for gardening and other hobbies at the 20-30 age is 7% and at 50-60 it is 16%, an increase of more 9%. Also, other hobbies for 20-30 age is 11% and in the 50-60 age it decrease to 8%.
In conclusion, the percentage of leisure product spending in the UK such as gardening is growing, while the proportion of leisure product on gardening is unchanged or falling.
